General Questions

I currently use Google Hangouts as the main platform of communication. We will kick off the project with a virtual meeting to brainstorm ideas and get to know each other better. We will also use Trello as a project management tool to ensure everything is on track. You will have the ability to be kept up to date on the status of your project in real time!

Each project’s timeline will vary. I have indicated an approximate timeline with each project however, depending on communication and revision, the timeline may be extended. Please note that we follow business days for the timelines.

Yes, all projects will require a signed contract before starting work. I want to ensure we both feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

All projects require a 50% non-refundable deposit followed by invoices that are sent at predetermined times specified in our contract and project timeline. Generally, the remainder will be payable 3 days prior to project end date. After we have launched, any additional elements will be billed per item.

Invoices will be sent electronically, and payments can be sent through e-transfers to prevent additional charges and fees.

As of 2020, my hourly rate is $30/hr.

Hooray – that’s great news! Take a couple minutes and fill out our application form and we will respond within 1 business day with any follow up questions and a quote. Partnership is important in business so we want to ensure we are a great match.
Once we get everything in writing and a deposit is paid, a spot will be secured for you in my calendar! We will set a project start date (normally a 2-4 week waiting period) which will give you ample time to do your homework prior to the design process.

Authentic and Purposeful Branding

Before I can start working on your brand strategy and design, I will require the brand questionnaire filled out completely. Please be detailed in your responses as that will help determine everything from aesthetic, strategy, and purpose.

Consistency is everything when it comes to branding. Think of your brand style guide as a rulebook: it emcompasses everything from logos, colours, fonts, typography, values, language, messages, persona, photography, and more. It indicates how you can create content with your business’s key design elements.
In essence, a brand style guide outlines how your brand should be presented to the world and captures your entire brand personality in one document.

For all of the branding packages, final files will be sent to you via Google Drive or Dropbox (your choice).

Most of the time, I will try to use free fonts for your projects but I may run into instances where a font will have to be purchased. I will get approval from you prior to moving forward with a purchase.
Unfortunately, due to the different licenses each font has, I do not include them in final files. However, I will be more than happy to show you where you can download/purchase them if you are interested in using them in other marketing collaterals, such as your website.

Depending on your needs and my workload calendar, I’ll be more than happy to discuss other design services with you. A la carte items will be quoted upon request. Please get in touch by sending me an email with subject “Service Inquiry”

Great question! The designer will own all creative and reproductive rights of any artwork and logos. The client, however, will own creative rights. In simpler terms, this means the client can use the artwork and logo in any way they like (i.e. website, social media, etc). but they don’t have the permission to reproduce, edit, or recreate.

Ultimate Website Design Experience

No it isn’t included in the costs of our services. You will have to purchase it separately as well as your domain.
I recommend GoDaddy for your domain purchase and Siteground for website hosting. They offer excellent products as well as customer service.

Before I can start working on your website, I will need ALL of your website content (images, text, pages, blog posts, links, etc.) unless indicated otherwise. This will allow us to start on time. Failure to do so could result in rescheduling the project and a penalty fee.

Unfortunately, no. All content is solely your responsibility. I will only be responsible for the design and build of your website. I would suggest working with a copywriter if you need some help in creating copy.

Totally understandable that everybody has different needs for their business! Get in touch so we can discuss more in detail.

Your web project will include basic on-page SEO; however, I do suggest working with an expert specializing in SEO if you are looking for something more advanced.

Yes – 100%! Our sites are built to be functional across all devices; which means definitely mobile friendly and responsive.

Depending on the package, there will be some technical support available after the transfer of your site. I will be happy to walk you through the back-end of WordPress so you can get familiar with the platform. I want to empower you to be able to make future content changes and not be overwhelmed!
Please get in touch if you are interested for a site maintenance post launch.
